The 5250 ALLY is a powerful, cost-effective, intelligent printer interface that enables an IBM AS/400 or S/3X midrange computer to print to an industry-standard, parallel-attached ASCII or EBCDIC printer. With the 5250 ALLY, distributed printers from Xerox, Hewlett-Packard, IBM/Lexmark and other manufacturers can be used in place of an IBM 3812, 4214, 5219, 5224, 5225 or 5256 printer. The ALLY also supports a parallel-attached alternate host. This feature allows the printer to be shared with a PC LAN, PC or even another protocol converter.

The 5250 ALLY, with a speed of up to 35 pages per minute, will keep up with the pace of your printer. Its 5219/3812 emulation supports IBM DisplayWrite 36 and Office/400, including multi-column justification, GFIDs with multiple fonts per page, superscripting, subscripting, bolding, overstriking, underlining, pitch control, page orientation and formatting.

Configuration is easy, through either the twinax host or an alternate host data stream. Plus, the unit's flash EEPROM-based firmware, user-programmable from a PC, facilitates new code upgrades and support for custom applications.

Support from AGILE is unequaled. All AGILE products are backed by a full one year warranty, overnight replacement is available, and technical support is toll-free for the life of the product.
